The battery backup unit for the RLE “BBD-RLE” is a reserve power unit designed to meet IEC 60598-2-22. As BBD-RLE is a robust emergency power source for an RLE unit, it must meet the same IP66 and harsh chemical spray down standards as the luminaire.
I owned the full mechanical design of BBD-RLE from inception through prototyping, validation, and production. I worked with a cross-functional team including electrical engineers, firmware engineers, and compliance engineers.
